OTP Bank Romania's employees have brought an „eco” spirit to winter holidays, by giving attention, once again, to the disadvantaged children. The organization continues the social responsibility actions set as directions for its daily activities.

This year, the Christmas Tree was a „green” one at OTP Bank Romania, not only for it’s color, but, most of all, for the way it has been decorated. The employees’ children were invited to decorate the tree with trimmings made by themselves out of recyclable materials. The children had ten days at their disposal to create the decorations out of cardboards, paper, plastic bottles, wood or newspapers. Their efforts have been rewarded with natural-made toys and, in order for them to learn to protect the environment, OTP Bank’s employees offered them cards with the steps to be followed in keeping the environment as clean as possible.

„We all wish for a greener planet, so we have decided to take action in this direction. Besides the internal recycling programs we develop, this year we have also involved the children in environment protection actions, as the civic spirit is thought from early ages”, stated László Diósi, CEO of OTP Bank Romania.

This autumn, OTP Bank Romania contributed to the rehabilitation of a school in Faget, Bacau County, near the holidays, the organization’s employees collected gifts for 47 children assisted by the SOS Children Villages Foundation and sheltered in the SOS Village in Bucharest. The 25 boys and 22 girls are 6 to 17 years old.

Approximately 300 books, 25 boxes containing clothes, toys, writing materials, sweets and other objects have been collected, as well as a printing machine, bought for the children’s use. OTP Bank’s employees gave children the presents on 18th December in the SOS Village in Bucharest, with the occasion of the children’s Christmas party.
